was born in Sydney NS and continues to make Cape Breton her home. She has always had a passion for drawing and painting though circumstances led her to study sciences in Halifax. While attending St. Mary's University she enjoyed the luxury of an art gallery on campus. Here she was able to study part-time in charcoal and later in oil under the instruction of Robert Diets who was the curator of the gallery at that time.
